Give a Year of Photos Calendar

One year, all we could afford to buy for my parents was a photo calendar filled with pictures of the kids.  I felt bad about the simplicity of my gift, but for them, it was the best present ever.  They raved about that little calendar for months, saying they looked forward to turning the month so they could see what new pictures we had in store for them.  As it turns out, sometimes the least expensive gift can also be the richest.

If you start now to plan for a photo calendar, you can plan for great pictures to put in every month.  One of the things I struggled with was having the right photos for a particular month, but if I had planned ahead I could have made a point to take pictures that reflected the season for each month, such as the kids sharing a Valentine’s Day dinner in February or swimming at the beach in July.

Knowing you are going to be needing plenty of photos gives you the perfect excuse to pack a camera around wherever you go, and even if you don’t use photos from a particular day out, you have still captured memories that you can look back on for years to come.

A photo calendar, printed at Walmart or a similar store, will cost about $20, but the reaction from a loved one, such as a grandparent, when they open that gift is priceless.  Who knows?  You might even start an annual family tradition.
